zymelecithin.jpgWhat is Zyme Lecithin?

Zyme LECITHIN is a food supplement that, in sufficient amounts, furnishes some of the materials which the body needs for the growth, proper functions and renewal of body cells. Lecithin has been found to be deficient in the usual diets of many persons, because it does not exist in sufficient quantities in our regular foods. This is most particularly true after middle life when less food is consumed and the circulation is less active. Zyme LECITHIN should, therefore, form a part of life. Zyme LECITHIN's main function in the human diet is to supply materials which can be elaborated in the liver into products required by the various kinds of cells in the body.

Lecithin (from the Greek word "lekithos", meaning egg yolks) is a yellow-brown fatty substance, originally derived from egg yolks and soybeans, found in every cell and organ in the body. It is essential to cells in maintaining the surface tension of their membranes, and ensures proper functioning of every cell in every organ of the human body.

The most common source of lecithin is from egg yolks of which it forms about 2%. However, the extraction of this for a medicinal product proved to be too expensive for it to be used on a large-scale basis in human diets.

Fortunately, America was able to develop a very large soybean industry that can now furnish large amounts of soybean oil, about 2% lecithin which can be used in human diets, either for its preventive or therapeutic value.

Mechanism of Action

Lecithin is a natural compound which includes choline, inositol, phosphatides, phosphorous, and unsaturated fatty acids (oleic, linoleic, and arachidonic).

In the body, Zyme LECITHIN emulsifies fats into tiny evenly dispersed droplets that can be transported in the blood and utilized as needed by every cell in the body. Zyme LECITHIN is important for the optimum metabolism in the body. If there is a faulty metabolism of fats, it can cause a wide variety of disorders, such as atherosclerosis; obesity; liver disorders; gallstones; dry itching skin elements; and even lack of energy. The effects of lecithin vary from person to person, depending on the physiological make-up of the individual.

Beneficial Effects

  • FOR WEIGHT REDUCTION. Lecithin is useful for slimming or weight reduction, as it causes fats to burn more rapidly and prevents the building up of unwanted and unsightly bulges, because it keeps the fats on the move in small particles, circulating in the different parts of the body.
  • FOR LOWERING OF CHOLESTEROL. Due to the average diet that contain too much of the wrong kind of fat, incidences of high cholesterol remain prevalent. Diets with low saturated fats will enable Zyme LECITHIN to play its important role more effectively and increase the essential fatty acid content of the daily food intake, ensuring that the body itself will produce polyunsaturated lecithin, which will lower blood cholesterol levels.
  • FOR PREVENTING ATHEROSCLEROSIS. Zyme LECITHIN is known to be the balancing factor produced by the liver. After mingling with the bile in the gall bladder, it enters the small bowel and helps with the digestion of fats. It is a homogenizing agent, which breaks down fat into tiny particles of uniform size and quality. So, fat disposal and the problem of keeping the arteries free of cholesterol deposits are largely a question of having an adequate supply of lecithin in the blood stream.
  • FOR THE BRAIN. There is a high concentration (28-30%) of Lecithin in the nerves, brain, and vital organs, such as the heart and the liver. The brain's myelin sheath (white substance covering the nerves that acts as an insulation) is mostly made up of Lecithin. If the body lacks Lecithin, the myelin sheath may be thin. Nervous, mental or glandular overactivity can use up Lecithin faster than it is replaced. When there is a lack in Lecithin, one can become irritable and exhausted, and a nervous breakdown can result from it. The bulk of the human brain is comprised of up to 30% of Lecithin. For idiots and imbeciles, there is 0% of Lecithin, while geniuses can have as much as 50 - 60% of Lecithin composition in their brain.

Because it is all natural, it has no side effects such as dizziness, weakness, irregular heartbeat and insomnia, which are commonly felt with the use of other slimming supplements.
